The Main Character
Our Dark Fantasy Female Protagonist: Solus Cerventes is one current lineage heir in the Bowa Realm, living in the human population on the planet: Kinawa. Sol is the female protagonist who is thrown through hell.
From birth, she was destined for great things and expected by the world to be one of the heroes it needed. As the Order and Chaos heir, she was given the responsibilities of Order, thus becoming the current Order Sorcerer. That was probably the only thing going for her, though, as her life progressed.
Life was going okay for her. She had friends, people who looked up to her, and a good support system. What she was missing was a caring family. Dad wasn’t bad, but Mom is a gold digger. There was only one reason Sol was ever born. For her Mom to still have access to Dad’s money, she had to produce an heir to continue the family line.
After she came into the world, she was put on the back burner. She always managed to take her Dad’s attention away and hog it for herself. She demanded all the newest things and dragged her husband ragged. Sol tried to tell her dad, but he never listened to her. In the end, his life ended too early due to the stress.
To make matters worse, she suddenly started getting migraines nonstop that worsened over the years. As she got older, the migraines took her from the life she once knew. Her friend group got smaller. Those who looked to her for help started coming around less. That support system no longer knew how to help her. Her migraines changed her. Her personality shifted. Her focus in life shifted. Her outlook on life shifted. What she has in the end is Micah, her best friend, a job to support herself, and the fact that she at least wasn’t the Chaos Sorcerer.
Now, she’s 22, almost a decade since the migraines started. Her dating life is in shambles, and she’s always working as a top-tier independent contractor. Life doesn’t stop for her. One obstacle after the next, maybe a day’s worth of rest if she’s lucky. Her work has also taken her into the shady depths of the world. She has access to a place many don’t even know exists. That’s just the way her job took her.
Many can’t say they look up to the family as it stands, but at this point, Sol doesn’t care. To make things worse, her best friend threw a slew of people into her life that she was not mentally prepared for. How will she balance all of this, and what does it mean for her future?
Micah Delgato
Micah met our main character after her migraines started. He was never bothered by the new Sol. He actually liked it. She told it how it was and never sugar-coated things. She stopped being so uptight and started letting go more.
They met one day while their groups of dancers collaborated for a street performance. Neither group was professional, but damn were they good. Many actually got recruited by professionals after the performance. Sol had to pass because, as a natural-born sorcerer, life would just be harder for her if she didn’t at least choose some profession that helped the world. Micah was in the same boat as the Dream Sorcerer, another lineage heir. Thus, their connection began.
To this day, Micah is still a loyal friend by Sol’s side. With him, she’ll never not know the pain of an annoying pest always under her hair. For him, being the eldest sibling in his family, he really knows how to bring out little brother energy.
Rugus Lorranto
Rugus is the first new face in Sol’s life. Also, the only one that Micah did not shove into her corner. Instead, he was a random encounter while she was out for a morning jog. He’s new to the neighborhood and unfamiliar with Sol’s reputation, for now. What he does see is a pretty face taking care of her body and enjoying the sunny morning of the beautiful world they live in. Yeah, that’s not how Sol sees it, but he never asked.
His move? Sneak in a coffee date invitation. One that caught even Sol off guard. She accepts due to his cheekiness and good looks. He must be feeling good with himself now, don’t you think?
Sol learns quickly that he’s got secrets, just like the rest of the population. He puts on the Prince Charming look in front of her, but goes into the cage to throw fists in the dark hours of the night. What he didn’t expect was that Sol was in the audience watching. What is he trying to hide?
Atlas Monerro
Atlas is an unwanted friend at first. She is Sol’s contact in the Underground, the place many don’t know exists. So secretive, many refer to it as the dark market, not even its real name. Atlas here is an information broker, and a popular one. Her services are so sought after that she decided to monetize them even harder. In the Underground, only the best of the best serve the patrons.
Sol has three specialties as an independent contractor: hand-to-hand combat, spy work, and information gathering. The one way to survive as an information broker is to make connections with other brokers. One broker can’t do it all. Many have their own niche sector of the market. For Sol, it’s finding people. For Atlas, it’s knowing what’s happening around the world. That doesn’t mean they can’t do other things; it’s just what they are best at.
Atlas is good at what she does because she explored the world before she landed where she is now. In this world, not everyone is a sorcerer. Yes, everyone has an aura, or aura-bound properties (ABP), and some ability, but only sorcerers have expansive or very strong abilities. The world knows, though, that being a sorcerer is not everything. Atlas proves that to herself with what she can do.
Derryl Perix
Derryl is the first of a few Micah introduces to Sol. Who could imagine that he’s another heir! More precisely, the Creation Sorcerer. Just like Sol, he’s lucky not to be the Ruin Sorcerer. He learned this in a much harsher way, though.
Like Sol, their families, plus the Joy & Woe family, and the Life & Death family, have a curse. Not a typical curse, just humanity being dirty, rude humanity. The government has made people believe Chaos, Ruin, Woe, and Death are the evil gods of the world. In reality? No god is evil; that’s why the Shallows’ Realm exists. To learn more about realms, you can visit Coming Soon.
Derryl is a fun-loving dude with the curiosity of a monkey or small child. He’s had life hit him hard, and he has no time for anything else to get to him. He does his job and supports his friends, but he won’t say no to a drink and a good time.
Shiloh Lucana
Shiloh is the second of Micah’s new introductions. One that Sol really could have lived without, and prefers it was that way. Shiloh steps on Sol’s toes the moment he has the chance. She can’t say Micah was partially to blame. Regardless, his comment was still uncalled for. The festival was supposed to be a fun event, but instead, this man chose to raise Sol’s stress levels even further.
As if the first encounter wasn’t bad enough, he decides to keep popping up in Sol’s life. Why does he have to be everywhere she goes? Even when they are countries apart, he’s still there to annoy her. Either by phone or her own imagination.
Then Micah has to show up AGAIN and bring this man along on what should have been a best friends only trip. Can Shiloh just not? He should know what’s he doing.
